Run-ins

Yesterday was the day for run-ins of the oddest sort. It all started around noon when I went to Bicycle Sport Shop to check out some new cycling shoes. I'm standing there cruising the Sidis, Shimanos and Specialized foot wear when I hear "You used to work as Central Market." Who is it, but a former coworker from my grocery store days who was also looks for bike shoes. I hadn't seen this person in about 7 years.

Then in the evening, I went to a community organizing meeting and sat next to a woman who was the mother of someone I went to high school with.

About an hour later I went to a Jewish happy hour function and ran into someone I had been training with to do the triathlon. I had no idea she was Jewish, and here we were cruising the Jew scene together.

Then I was talking to another woman at said happy hour and it turns out we had a common friend, and she was heading to the next party I was headed to.

At next party (an open mic night at a south Austin club), I run into this guy who's the security guard at a building I'm trying to organize right now. He's a really cool dude and we've had all kinds of awesome conversations. Turns out he can really rock the blues guitar.

So that's 5 crazy run-in/connections all in one day. Whoa...
